Object-subject of surveillance
Video Installation
This work consists of a mirror chamber, which is intervened by two video screens connected to a surveillance circuit that records the work live; in this way, the image is reproduced infinitely in the box alluding to cyberspace, in which the observer is both subject and object of surveillance.
This piece is a critique of control societies that have restructured the exercise of power, involving the participation of all subjects in their own surveillance, making them visible to a multitude of gazes from different directions. In front of our cell phone screen, today, the observing subject becomes the observed object, and the observed object is in turn the observer.
