Protest machines

Technological / Critical Art

"We are facing the reinvention of a machine in which men are the constituent parts, instead of being the workers and users subject to it"

— Deleuze and Guattari, A Thousand Plateaus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia.

Deleuze and Guattari propose in A Thousand Plateaus a cybernetic view in which men have become constituent pieces of a machine, which integrate with each other and with other agents (tools, algorithms, etc.) under the control and direction of a megamachine.

Starting from this thought, this work is conceived as a satire of the social system, in which the individual is inserted to perform repetitive tasks in their daily life, fulfilling the function of a gear or, in informational terms, being an agent of inputs and outputs of information. Thus, this machine aims to be an individual with social consciousness who rebels against the system that is itself machinery.
